Do Not Let Your Drinks Sabotage Your Weight Loss Plan

By Walt Jensen

Have you thought about what parts of your lifestyle are making you gain weight? You need to know what drinks, food and your lifestyle are the weight gain culprits. Exercising is a good way to drop some pounds, because being active increases your metabolism and that will help you lose weight.

Nutrition is another very important part of losing weight and you will need to look at all the different aspects of your diet to see where you are making those unhealthy choices. Sure we look at the foods we should be eating like fruits and vegetables, but what often gets overlooked when it comes to nutrition is what drinks we consume.

Drinking the right fluids can be the difference between successfully losing weight or having your diet fall apart after only a month, because you're not making any progress. You need to understand what the good beverages are and what the bad beverages are.

These are the good drinks.

Water - The best drink around and one that you cannot go wrong with drinking. It will hydrate your body, quench your thirst, while not adding any calories into your diet. If you are going to drink your tap water then get it checked for anything that is unhealthy. If your tap water is not good enough, then try bottled water or even using some type of water filter on your tap water.

Flavored water can contain sugar, which have no nutritional value. Sugar free flavor packets or fresh fruit juice are good choices.

Another healthy beverage is milk, because it contains a lot of Vitamin D and calcium. Milk is a good choice for bodies that are growing and health conscious adults also. Do not drink the flavored milks, as they contain sugars.

Here are the bad drinks.

Soda - This is a bad drink even if it tastes so good. Soda has a lot of calories and sugars that have no nutritional value and will hurt your weight loss plan. Take a look at the nutrition label on a can of soda the next time you go shopping, and you will be surprised just how many calories are in a can.

Alcohol Drinks

Having a beer often tastes good, but drinking alcohol can add unwanted calories into your weight loss plan. Wine does have plenty of calories, but the antioxidant properties are good for your heart if drank in moderation only. Your drink choices can be a big part of whether or not your diet fails.
